Build2Impact Project Overview
A major challenge for many BME learning providers lies in their capacity to evidence the quality of their work. Things are improving; however, there is still some way to go. This is why the CapacityBuilders grant to the WY BME Learning Network through REEMAP has come at an opportune time. REEMAP, as lead body for the Network, successfully bid for a grant under the CapacityBuilders’ Improving Reach Grant Programme to deliver a range of activities to the members of the Network in the project now known as Build2Impact.
The intention is that smaller organisations have more skills and resources to provide support services to third-sector frontline organisations which work with excluded communities. These smaller organisations will be able to continue their work after this funding has run out. In addition, more frontline organisations working in and with excluded communities can get high-quality support services which are appropriate for them.
Furthermore, many of the Network’s members need help with satisfying the quality requirements of commissioning bodies. This project will develop a resource base for members to meet the Common Inspection Framework requirements. It will run training in MATRIX Accreditation for IAG and also develop a team of champions/experienced learning providers who can coach new BME VCS learning providers who up to now have only hosted learning provided by Colleges. Attending training is often a drain on limited resources so we want to develop distance learning material which will be available on our website to complement classroom based training and one-to-one coaching.
The project will also design and test Model learner forms, tutor packs, observation and internal moderation and other tools for quality learning delivery, as well as a “Super-Coach” course designed and delivered to 9 lead organisations who can support smaller centres to deliver quality learning opportunities and an On-line distance learning package developed for effective learning delivery.
The Network team will work with 10 of our member organisations annually over the 3 years of funding providing in depth practical advice and guidance so they have embedded quality systems to meet commissioning body requirements for learning delivery and the skills and confidence to participate in consortium bids presented by the Network We will run networking and skills workshop events for all our members, updating and helping with bidding opportunities and run Train the Trainer activities to meet Government changes in tutor qualifications (P/C/DTLLS) and address skills deficits to enable active promotion of community cohesion and neighbourhood renewal activities.
